They say/I say Chapter 5 ex. 1
In the first sentence when the author quotes Marxs and Engels which states, "Society as a whole is more and more splitting up into two great hostile camps, into two great classes directly facing each other - the bourgeoisie and the proletariat" right after that the author said "If only that were true, things might be more simple." This is an example of the author stating the views of others and then distinguishing her views from that. By stating this the author is disagreeing with the quote by Marxs and Engels and her views is that it isn't that simple to say that society is split into just two groups. The author also goes on to say that there is upper middle class, lower middle class, lower uppers, and upper uppers, which this is also an example of the author inserting her views based off of the views of someone else.
